I see two possible approaches: revert to the oem firmware or, try another dd-wrt build. However, I want to see if there can possibly be a solution to this problem. When I press this button, I can see wifi lights go on and off but within the dd-wrt, the wireless network remains disabled. When it is enabled, the associated lights on the router light on. The router has a wifi button which can enable or disable the wifi. As you see in the attached picture, when I click on site survey, it asks me to enable the wireless network. It shows the wireless radio is off and I cannot find a way to turn it on. Upon initial inspection, I noticed there is a problem with the wireless setup. I recently purchased a used Netgear R8500 on Ebay with dd-wrt preinstalled. Posted: Tue 6:00 Post subject: Problem with the wifi on a Netgear R8500
